Frequently Asked Questions

WILL YOU TELL ME WHERE TO MOVE OR TRAVEL?

While locational astrology and astrocartography can suggest a great deal about how you might experience a particular place, there are so many other factors to consider! I respect your autonomy by offering you information that will help you to decide where you want to go in the world.

Can you provide both locational astrology and psychotherapy sessions?

My astrology business is separate from my work as a psychologist and mental health provider. Locational astrology sessions should not be a substitute for necessary mental health support. If you are interested in psychotherapy, you are welcome to contact me through my psychology/consulting website, but please know that my practice is very limited at this time and openings are rare.

Do you offer synastry or composite chart locational astrology readings for two or more people?

Yes, I do offer readings for two or more people. I look at individual charts side-by-side and also look at composite charts, as well as all the relocated charts for the places you are wanting to explore. Because these readings take more time, I ask that you contact me to inquire about availability and rates.

I’VE HEARD THAT IT’S BEST TO MOVE TO A JUPITER OR VENUS LINE. IS THIS TRUE?

Unfortunately, this blanket and overgeneralized idea is pervasive in pop astrology and across social media. I feel so strongly in allowing the birth chart (or relocated birth chart) to tell you what planets will be most supportive to you given your unique needs and priorities. Venus and Jupiter lines are great for some people and less pleasant for others, so I will not be telling you to just go to these lines. Similarly, I won’t fear-monger or tell you to stay away from any “bad” lines (e.g., Pluto and Uranus lines get a bad rap, but they aren’t unpleasant for everyone!). Rather than give cookie-cutter recommendations, I look at your birth chart, relocated charts, astrocartography (ACG) lines, parans, and local space lines. I aim to offer the most personalized information for you to use in making decisions about where to move or travel. Given that every place will have its benefits and drawbacks, I encourage you to use critical and expansive thinking in making big decisions, especially with regards to where to relocate.

Is there a best or easiest place for me to live in the world?

Astrocartography/locational astrology does offer quite a bit of information about how a given individual may experience different places in the world, but every place has its pros and cons. As much as I clearly love astrocartography as a tool for clarifying vision and supporting personal growth and expansion, I want to emphasize that there are no “geographic cures” that will allow us to suddenly be free of the personal challenges we each face. Certain places will facilitate more ease or flow, but there is no perfect place. Wherever we go, there we are…but the backdrop can change the story. So my advice for you is: let the planets guide you home, and know that you can cultivate a sense of home within you that you can access anywhere you go.

Traveling or moving is not an option for me. How can astrocartography help me?

You may have a number of reality factors or personal values that make travel or relocation impossible or undesirable. Traveling and relocation both involve having some access to financial resources or privilege. You may have questions about how ethical it is for you to relocate to a place where you may not have personal, cultural, or familial ties. And you may be concerned about contributing to gentrification or displacement of people who have deep historical ties to land. These are all very important questions, and I encourage my clients to be deeply intentional about their choices and their impact on others’ communities. The good news: Being able to tap into the energies of different lines/places does not always require that you physically go to that place. There is something called remote activation that allows you to connect with the energies of a place without moving or visiting that place.
