HI! I’M SAND.

I want to help you to relate to astrology in a way that allows you to feel more connected to every part of who you are.

Thanks for stopping by! My name is Sand, and my pronouns are they/them. I’m a Chinese American nonbinary queer neurodivergent person who is passionate about helping people to cultivate a greater sense of home and internal harmony through astrology.

Astrology is a second profession for me. Most of my studies in astrology are in Western Hellenistic (traditional) astrology, but I also employ the lenses of Modern and Vedic astrology schools. While I do offer natal and transit chart readings, my passion is locational astrology, which includes astrocartography and relocated charts, among other techniques that play with time and space. I have always loved traveling (I’ve got a Sagittarius stellium in my 9th house!), and I’ve always been deeply interested in how someone’s context (geographic, cultural, relational) affects their experience of themselves and the world. I have a certification in Relocation Astrology through my teacher Helena Woods, and I have also studied almost 50 hours of Holistic Locational Astrology with Moses Siregar.

For over 20 years I have worked as a clinical psychologist/psychotherapist, educator, and DEI/organizational consultant. I continue to spend a significant portion of my time educating and mentoring mental health and other medical care providers, with an emphasis on body liberation. My private psychotherapy practice is very small these days as I’ve shifted my focus and energy toward my work as an astrologer. While I do not provide psychotherapy services in conjunction with my astrological work at this time, I believe that my depth of expertise in understanding human behavior and emotions do provide with insights as to how to support clients who are interested in using astrology as a tool to live in more emotional freedom, authenticity, and overall wellbeing. My background as an Internal Family Systems therapist (and Assistant Trainer with the IFS Institute) have led me to believe that there are no bad parts, no bad planets, no bad signs, and no bad places. I have been developing a technique called Astro-IFS, which combines astrology and Internal Family Systems parts work, and I am offering this service to a select few clients at this time. I plan to expand availability to offer this service in 2025.

Things that light me up: spending time with my amazing smoosh-faced dogs, travel, games, puns, dancing, emotional connection.

MY VALUES

integrity

I aim to be impeccable yet imperfect with my word, align my words with my actions, and honor the consistency, structures, and boundaries that allow for the development of trust and connection.

COLLECTIVE LIBERATION

My liberation is deeply intertwined with yours. I do not believe in elevating any one person’s rights or body over another’s, but I do believe in amplifying the voices of those who are most marginalized.

KINDNESS

I believe that life is most meaningful when we are in a reciprocal exchange of kindness, compassion, and generosity. This means respect for all living beings.

TRANSPARENCY

If you have a question, please ask. I want to demystify astrological information and so that it is as accessible as possible for you.

CULTURAL HUMILITY

I am committed to lifelong growth. I know that my social location (including areas of privilege and marginalization) shapes my views. I will be real with you when I don’t have the answers.

BEING HEART-LED

Our society values logic more than feelings or gut instincts. Leading with the heart goes against this norm, reconnecting us to our common humanity. It involves listening to our body, thoughts, feelings, and intuition.

autonomy

I believe that we each have a right to make our own choices (including mistakes!) so long as we are accountable regarding the impact on others. I respect and support your dignity of choice.

DECOLONIZATION

I believe in the autonomy, sovereignty, and liberation of the rightful stewards and people who reside on the land. I resist and strive to dismantle hierarchical and supremacist ways of viewing the world.

MULTIPLICITY

I resist singular or binary perspectives that oppress and limit people’s experiences of themselves and the world. I believe we all have parts, and those are reflected in the complexity of our birth charts.

Between the lines

Sand shares experiences of traveling to their astrocartography lines.
